Boarding & Day School Placement
Students
have a variety of needs and desires for their educational
settings, and each will learn best and be most successful
in an environment which offers the appropriate challenges and
opportunities. There is a wide range of educational models
and curricula available, and students who are looking for
increased or different options, approaches, challenges, and
environments can benefit from consultation with an educational
consultant.
There
are many factors to be evaluated when considering a boarding school:
philosophy, peer group, structure, setting, and size.
Teaching and discipline styles, religious affiliation, and the role of
arts and athletics are additional elements that define each school.
If
one is considering a boarding school, then it is critical to make sure
that the "fit" is right. Educational Directions evaluates a
student's needs, strengths, weaknesses, interests, skills, and
likes/dislikes
and helps to direct families to choices that will provide the optimum
setting for growth and success. Educational Directions is a
member of the Secondary
School Admission Test Board (SSATB) and is an independent
testing site for the administration of the SSAT, the admission test
required by most boarding schools and many days schools.
